President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s determination to tackle insecurity and drive food sufficiency across Nigeria, as he commended Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, for his developmental strides and leadership.

Speaking at the grand finale of the Argungu International Fishing Festival in Kebbi State, the President praised the execution of key projects in the state, including the construction and naming of the ultramodern state secretariat. He described Governor Idris as a team leader whose efforts are positioning Kebbi as a growing tourism destination.

Tinubu also lauded the Emir of Argungu and the Sultan of Sokoto for their presence and support at the historic cultural event, noting the enduring significance of the fishing festival.

“Very good show and remarkable history; the fishing festival has endured for many years. It represents our culture,” the President said.

Reiterating his administration’s security agenda, Tinubu vowed to decisively confront banditry and restore safety to farming communities nationwide.

“We will win the war against any form of banditry in the country; farmers will return to their farms across the country,” he assured.

The President pledged federal support to Kebbi State in advancing agricultural production to achieve food sufficiency, stressing that agriculture remains central to national economic stability. He also reaffirmed his commitment to promoting renewable energy as part of efforts to improve electricity generation in the state.

In his welcome address, Governor Nasir Idris expressed appreciation to the President for honouring the invitation to attend the festival, describing the visit as a morale booster for the people of Kebbi State.
